Has my wife become too sensitive?

I've run into a little issue that I never expected to run into with my wife. She's absolutely my best friend, someone that I have always been able to tell anything to and do absolutely anything with. I've always loved that part of our relationship. Just in the last week, all that seemed to abruptly end. I made a comment about a woman on the television as being hot, and now I have been bombarded with comments that I am disrespectful towards her. In my eyes I could not have more respect for the girl, and have always strived to give her anything and everything she needs. My question is this, was it normal of me to believe that I can tell my wife anything? Has she become to sensitive about absolutely nothing? Please help…
